Wicked weather this way comes on Saturday

A frontal system is expected to cross the region late Saturday, bringing with it strong-to-severe thunderstorms.
National Weather Service Lake Charles Storm Warning Coordinator Doug Cramer said all modes of severe weather are possible — including large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes. Frequent lightning is also possible.
“For the most part we are looking at an increase in isolated showers Friday and Friday night, but really Saturday is when we have the better chances for severe thunderstorms,” Cramer said.
Periods of repeated rainfall or high rates of rain could result in flash flooding in the region. About a quarter of an inch to an inch of rainfall is predicted in most areas, though it’s possible central Louisiana could receive as much as two inches.
“The risk for flooding is low, but not quite zero for any spots that may receive repeated thunderstorms,” Cramer said. “With the ground saturation and it already being so wet, it won’t take a whole lot of rainfall for a short amount of time to get create some flooding,”
He said wind gusts in excess of 70 mph is possible in the Leesville area.
The timeframe for the storms is about noon-9 p.m. on Saturday.
Temperatures are also expected to drop into the 50s over the weekend.
“But we’re looking at dry conditions pretty much all day Sunday,” he said.
