An Oakdale man was killed Friday night in a single-vehicle fatality crash on La. 26 near Turner Road.

Louisiana State Police spokesperson Trooper Matt Gaspard said the crash claimed the life of 37-year-old Corey Dauzat.

Gaspard said Dauzat was driving a 1998 GMC Sierra east on La. 26 when the GMC crossed the centerline before traveling off the roadway to the left and striking a tree.

Dauzat, who was unrestrained at the time of the crash, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene, Gaspard said.

A standard toxicology sample was collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
