According to City Administrator John Cardone, all city of Lake Charles administrative offices and services, including City Hall and Transit Services, will remain suspended on Wednesday due to inclement weather.
Services are currently expected to resume on Thursday. Emergency services remain operational.
The window of time for public transportation to the emergency warming station at the MLK Community Center (2009 N. Simmons St.) has closed; however, the center remains open 24 hours a day. Residents in need of emergency assistance should call 911.
The city of Lake Charles Utilities Division would like to thank residents for their water conservation efforts through this severe weather event and ask for their continued support through the overnight hours of Tuesday and Wednesday. If residents are home, with their heat running, their normal daily water use will be sufficient to prevent pipes from freezing. Residents are asked to shut off dripping faucets to allow for time for the city’s system to catch up with the increased demand created by faucets dripping systemwide. If a city of Lake Charles Water Division customer is experiencing water issues, they are asked to contact (337) 491-1483.
