After almost four decades, Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School will soon be under new leadership.
Nicole Justice will take on the role of Head of School on July 1. She will succeed other Frances “Boo” Kay, who served the school for 55 years. She started at Bishop Noland as a teacher before serving as Head of School for 39 years.
Kay will finish out the 2024-25 school year. Alongside school administration, faculty and staff, she will work alongside Justice to “ensure a seamless transition of leadership.”
Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School’s mission statement is to provide and “academic excellence to a diverse student body in a Christian environment since 1953 for students two years through 12th grade.”
Justice embodies the qualities needed to continue this mission, said Emily Williams, Board of Trustees Chairman.
“Over her years as a leader in education, she has been instrumental in developing and aligning curriculum, organizing and facilitating summer research and curricular programs, coordinating professional development for faculty and training and mentoring.”
Justice has over 20 years of private school experience. She is currently the Director of the high school at Canterbury School in Fort Wayne, In. She has also held positions at Westminster Schools in Atlanta and Lake Highland Prep in Orlando, Fl.
Justice was selected from a pool of candidates following a comprehensive national search by independent consultant The Education Group. The eight-member search committee that conducted the search deserves thanks, Williams noted.
“They were devoted throughout the process to finding the most qualified candidate to serve the school in the future,” she said. “We are grateful for their tireless efforts as well as the support the the entire community throughout this process.”
