Benny Ray “Pete” LeDoux

Benny Ray “Pete” LeDoux, age 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025. Pete was born on Thursday, Oct. 30, 1930 to Joseph Hugh LeDoux and Lillian “Lilly” Gansner LeDoux.

Pete graduated from LaGrange High School and went to work at I.L. Lyons. While employed, he was called to serve his country which he proudly did. Upon returning to the states he resumed his job at I. L. Lyons/FoxMeyer until his retirement.

He married the love of his life, Mary Lou Mire LeDoux on July 30, 1955. They settled in Lake Charles where they raised seven beautiful children. Pete and Mary Lou loved to work on home projects and take care of their flowers and garden.

Pete loved to share wonderful stories of his life. Whether it was his youthful days, hunting, fishing, or gardening; he always had something entertaining to share. One of his favorite memories was how he killed his first duck on what is now Lake Charles Memorial Hospital or how he and his brothers swam in Bucks brickyard.

Pete was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Lou Mire LeDoux;  his two sons, Edward Ray LeDoux and Daniel Mitchell LeDoux; parents; step-mother, Milbre Myers LeDoux; brother, Howard “Buddy” LeDoux; sister, Anna Faye Rozas; brother, Ernest Joseph LeDoux; sister, Peggy Guglielmo; and baby brother, Fremont LeDoux.

Those left to cherish her memory are his son, Ross LeDoux (Shontel); daughters, Debra Dupre (Jimi), Paula LeJeune (Greg), Terri Pruner (David), and Tracie LeDoux (Renee’); grandchildren, Paige Self, Danielle LeDoux, Lauren Pruner, Alexis Dupre, Tristan Pruner, Madison LeDoux, Regan LeDoux, and Ty Touvell; great-grandchildren, Corey, Chianna, Cha’Nya, and Lilah; half-brother, Frank D. LeDoux (Mary); half-sister, Milbre Etta Redler; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025 in the Chapel of Lilies at J. E. Hixson Funeral Home with a Rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Pete’s funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Josh Page officiating. Burial will follow in Sallier Cemetery. Fond memories and condolences may be shared with Pete’s family at www.JEHixson.com
