UPDATE: Snowfall more and more likely on Tuesday

Chances are starting to favor a light snowfall across Southwest Louisiana early next week.
National Weather Service Lake Charles Storm Warning Coordinator Doug Cramer said the forecast has shifted and now there is a 50-75 percent chance of snow across all of Southwest Louisiana on Tuesday.
Cramer said a very cold airmass will be shifting into the area over the weekend and is expected to bring dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills across the entire region Monday through Thursday.
In addition to the cold, a low pressure system is expected to develop and move across the northern Gulf of Mexico into that cold air on Tuesday.
As of this morning, Cramer said snowfall is more likely than not Tuesday — and there is up to a 49 percent chance of more than 2 inches of snow falling that day.
Cramer said the cooler temperatures and winter precipitation could mean slick roads, widespread closures and disruptions to infrastructure during the weather event across Calcasieu, Cameron and Jeff Davis parishes.
