Edward “Eddie” Ray Roya

 Edward Ray Roya Sr., 56, a resident of Lake Charles, La. passed from this life on Jan. 10, 2025, in the comfort of his home.

A proud graduate of Kingwood High School in Kingwood, Texas, Eddie’s education laid the foundation for a successful career. Eddie dedicated 31 years to Schlumberger, where he retired from a fulfilling role in management. His colleagues remember him as a man who excelled in his professional endeavors, leading with a quiet faith and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Beyond his professional life, Eddie was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. These hobbies were more than pastimes, they were the backdrop for the countless memories he created with family and friends. A master in the kitchen, Eddie found joy in cooking, generously sharing his culinary creations and ensuring no one ever left his table hungry.

Eddie’s love for his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews was immeasurable. He cherished every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom and sharing in their laughter. Those who knew Eddie will remember him as a man of humor, friendliness, and intelligence. His ability to light up a room with his wit and warmth will be deeply missed.

Eddie’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and the importance of family. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Mr. Roya is preceded in death by parents, Glen Ray and Rosemary St. George Roya.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory sister, Debbie Huval; son, Edward “Jed” Ray Roya Jr.; his daughter, Brianne Robbins and her husband, Brandon; his adoring grandsons, Brantley Wade Robbins, and Wyatt Ray Roya; his niece, Courtney Briles and her husband, Jonathon; his niece and “Little Goddaughter,” Katelyn Huval; great-nieces and nephews, Kane Huval, Haven Briles, and Nolan Briles; his former daughter-in-law and close friend, Savana Meyer, and a multitude of friends he made along life journey.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Monsignor Danny Torres is to officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery.
