A pair of Lake Charles men have been charged with aggravated assault after a Friday shooting at a convenience store on U.S. 90.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said during the investigation Quintin M. Brown, 29, told deputies that an unknown man —later identified as Kadrian A. Davis, 26 — exited the store with two handguns and began firing at his (Brown’s) vehicle.

“Brown, who was in possession of a firearm, began firing back at Davis, firing approximately two rounds,” Vincent said. “When detectives spoke with Brown he led them to believe the incident had no personal connections and was a random act.”

Later the same day, detectives located Davis at his residence and he was arrested. He has been booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with illegal use of a weapon; aggravated assault with a firearm; aggravated criminal damage to property. Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $250,000.

Vincent said detectives later learned Brown gave deputies a false statement.

“Detectives learned Brown had initiated a confrontation with Davis prior to the shooting at another location,” Vincent said.

A warrant was issued for Brown’s arrest and later the same day he was located at his residence. He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm; and obstruction of justice.  Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $350,000.

No one was injured during the shooting; however, three vehicles were damaged, the two suspects and another vehicle that was not involved in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible. CPSO Lt. Tony Jones is the arresting deputy in this case. CPSO Detective Shane Broussard is the lead investigator on this case.
