Ronald  “Ronny” Wayne Greenman

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronny Greenman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Ronny was born on Nov. 26, 1953, in Crowley, La., and departed this world on Jan. 8, 2025, surrounded by family. He was 71 years old.

Ronny was proceeded in death by his father, William “Cotton” Greenman; mother, Hilda; niece, Melissa Greenman; and nephew, Emile Bertrand.

Ronny is survived by Virginia Greenman, his devoted wife of 46 years; his son, Matthew Greenman; and his daughter, Dr. Ashley Greenman, husband JT Fontenot. Ronny found immense joy in his role as a grandfather to his three granddaughters, Reed, Logan, and Elliot Fontenot, with whom he shared countless precious moments.

He also leaves behind his brother Glenn Greenman, wife Pam; twin brother, John Greenman, wife Gail; brother, Gearld Greenman, wife Elaine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ronny was a graduate of Crowley High School, McNeese State University, and the Graduate School of Banking at LSU. He dedicated an impressive 48 years of his life to the banking industry, with his most recent role as Vice President and Special Assets Officer at b1BANK. Ronny will be remembered by his colleagues for his professionalism, commitment to excellence, and his “It’s a great day here at b1BANK” phone conversations.

A man of deep faith, Ronny was an active member of the Catholic Church, attending mass daily, serving as an usher frequently, and volunteering frequently at Catholic Charities of Southwest Louisiana.

In his leisure time, Ronny enjoyed cutting grass. He cherished every moment spent with his granddaughters, who brought endless joy and laughter into his life. He was an enthusiastic fan of LSU baseball and football, rarely seen without his LSU gear, proudly supporting his team through every victory and screaming at them through every defeat.

Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home; Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. with a rosary starting at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025 beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Lake Charles at 12 p.m. Burial will follow the Mass at Consolata Cemetery.

Dr. Craig Greenman; Douglas Greenman, PT, PTD; Dylan Greenman, PT, DPT; Gregory Guillory; Keith Domec; and Jace Nixon will be serving as pallbearers.
