LC man accused of sexual battery

On Dec. 21, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible sexual battery that occurred earlier in the day at a private event in Westlake.

During the investigation, detectives were advised a guest at the event, who was unknown to the victim, inappropriately touched the girl, said spokesperson Kayla Vincent.

Detectives identified the suspect as 46-year-old Marvin Pena of Lake Charles.

On Dec. 27, after further investigation detectives met with Pena.

“After speaking with him, he was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with sexual battery of a victim under the age of 13,” Vincent said.

Judge Kendrick Guidry set his bond at $150,000.  Additionally, a federal detainer was placed on Pena by U.S. Border Patrol after it was discovered he was in the United States illegally.

CPSO SVU Detective Elizabeth Ivey is the lead investigator on this case, with the assistance of CPSO Deputy Hector Rivera.
