Eva Lucille (Kimball) Gordon, affectionately known as “Moms” to all, gracefully exited this world at the remarkable age of 106 on Monday, Dec. 16, 2024. She was born to Willard and Elodie Kimball. She radiated a light and laughter that never dimmed. Moms was a storyteller, comedian, rapper, songwriter, advice-giver, historian, and everyone’s favorite honorary grandmother.

At the sweet age of 19, Moms married the love of her life, Kenneth Gordon who was lovingly referred to as “Pops” by his grandchildren. For 38 years, they worked as a fabulous team building a beautiful life, until his untimely death in 1973. Together they raised their three wonderful children,  Sharon (Claude) Deshotel, Kenneth (Judi) Gordon, and Kathy (J.C.) Warren. Moms was abundantly blessed to have experienced the love of 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Although she outlived all three of her children, two grandchildren, and one great-grandson, Moms handled the unimaginable grief with her trademark resilience and unshakable positivity.

To know Moms was to love her. She was the family matriarch, a town celebrity, and will forever remain a local legend. Her joy was infectious, her wit unmatched, and her wisdom delivered with a sprinkle of sass. Moms spun tales that left her audiences in stitches, always with a punchline, and topped off with her radiant signature smile. She had a knack for finding light in the darkest places and reminding those around her that life’s challenges could be met with laughter, faith, and even a little stubbornness.

Having lived through some of the most historically difficult times, she witnessed a rapidly changing world and experienced the deepest grief, but never allowed any of it to change or defeat her.

Moms left this life peacefully, in her home, surrounded by memories, love, and the echoes of all the laughter that she sparked. Her legacy is one of love, light, humor, and a reminder to always look for the joy, even in the darkest days.

She is survived by a loving family who will forever cherish her wit and wisdom, as well as countless friends and fans who were blessed to call her “Moms.”
