Two Allen Parish men have been cited by state wildlife agents for hunting wood ducks over a baited field near Kinder and exceeding the duck limit.

Donald Fuselier, 68, of Kinder and Jerry Busby, 66, of Reeves were cited for hunting migratory game birds over a baited area, taking over the limit of ducks and violating non-toxic shot requirements, according to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Busby was also cited for placing bait to take migratory game birds.

Agents observed Fuselier and Busby hunting migratory game near Kinder on Tuesday.

Agents made contact with the men and found them in possession of 10 wood ducks and toxic shot. The daily limit on wood ducks is three per licensed hunter.

During the investigation, agents found that the men were hunting over corn that was placed by Busby.

Agents seized the 10 wood ducks harvested for the baited area.

All migratory game bird bating cases are filed with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for prosecution in federal court.

Agents involved in the case are Sgt. Zachary Meche, Corporal Michael Darbonne and Senior Agent Clinton Willis.
