Dudley Shaw

Dudley Shaw, 78, passed away on Nov. 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 2, 1946, in Lake Charles, La., to Lillie Belle Caskey Shaw and James Lee Shaw.
Dudley was a skilled ironworker, known for his work in construction on bridges and his fearlessness when it came to heights. In addition to his work, Dudley had a deep love for the outdoors, particularly deer hunting and fishing. He was an active member of the Orange Gun Club and had a special passion for custom rifles. Dudley also took great pride in working in his yard, enjoying the satisfaction of keeping it neat and well-maintained. A talented woodworker, he had an eye for detail in every project he undertook.
Dudley was a Christian and found immense joy in spending time with his family and friends. Often, embellishing stories, telling fish tales, or pulling pranks. He cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Shirley Marie Landry Shaw; daughter, Chelleen Shaw; daughter-in-law, Sarah Shaw; grandchildren, Taylor Dunn (Colin), Tiffanie Savage, and Hannah Shaw; brothers-in-law, Kenny Landry (Marion), Hugh Landry, and Dennis Landry (Julie); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dudley was welcomed into heaven by his beloved son, Jared Shaw; granddaughter, Madelyn Shaw; and siblings, Neta-Beth Nyegaard, Jimmie Lou Worley, Fred Shaw, and Rex Shaw and parents, Lillie Belle Caskey Shaw and James Lee Shaw.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, located at 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA 70605. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until the time of the service. Cremation services have been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
