Carl “Nickie” Hall

Carl “Nickie” Hall is the baby boy of seven children. Born to the late Clarence Sr. and Orelia Hall on Aug. 1, 1959 in Lake Charles, La. Married to Sybil Butler Hall on Jan. 14, 1984 for 40 years and blessed with three children. Carl was called to Heaven by our Heavenly Father on Oct. 23, 2024; he was 65 years of age. He leaves his life of memory and legacy to one son, Thurston J. Hall and two daughters, Ndia J. Hall and Paije M. Hall.
Carl was a 1977 graduate of Marion High School, Lake Charles, La. and a graduate of Tulane University. Nickie was the first Black quarterback for Tulane University and was inducted into Tulane’s Hall of Fame in 1991 with his brother Charles Hall. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1981 and continued his career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Saskatchewan Roughriders. His career started with Coca Cola Bottling Co. and ended with Kraft Foods as an Account Manager, retiring in 2014. Carl was well known for his volunteering and mentoring for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Lafayette and New Orleans, Lafayette Parish School System, Churches, The Louisiana Center for Health Equity, Youth Peace Olympics of Baton Rouge and several other Non-Profit agencies throughout New Orleans, Lafayette and Lake Charles areas.
He leaves behind his love and memories with his wife Sybil Hall; his mother, Orelia Hall; sister, Edna Hall Wiley; brothers, Clarence Hall Jr., and Michael Hall, Charles Hall. He was predeceased by his brothers Murray Hall and Cedric Hall.
Heaven is getting a truly amazing and beautiful son, husband and father.
