John Charles Land

John Charles Land, 69, of Lake Charles passed away at 12:10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024 in a Lafayette hospital.

Mr. Land was born on Oct. 29, 1954 in Reeves where he was raised and was a 1972 graduate of Reeves High School.  In 1981, Mr. Land moved to Lake Charles, where he embarked on a successful career in the glass business.  He began his journey at Service Glass and, in the early 1990’s, partnered with Roger Faulk to establish Colonial Glass, where he dedicated himself until his retirement.

Known for his hardworking nature, Mr. Land took great pride in maintaining his property and home, finding joy in every task.  He had a particular fondness for riding his tractor.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, JC Land (Victoria) and a brother-in-law, Gil Elrod (Connie).

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lauris E. Land and his parents, Clyde and Kitten Land.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel.  The Rev. Don Barrett will officiate.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in Creel Memorial Gardens.  A gathering of family and friends will begin at 12 p.m. until the start of the service.
