Larry  Dean Turner

Larry Dean Turner, 90, of Sulphur, La. passed away on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024. He was born to his late parents, John and Erma Turner on Jan. 23, 1934 in Palestine, Texas. Larry enjoyed deer hunting, and going to garage sales. He was proud of his service in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. Larry retired from working for the United States Government as a Petroleum and Chemical Inspector for the Department of Defense in 1993. He loved his family and was truly a friend to everyone. 

He is survived by three children, Troy Turner of Sulphur, Trose Turner of Sulphur, and DeAnna Armentor  (“Coon”) of Sulphur; three sisters, Sandra Goswick of Siloam Springs, Ark., Kaye Moheng (Eddie) of Tulsa, Okla., and Lynn Sangwin (Allan) of  Ark.; brother, Bob Turner of Seattle, Wash.; along with two grandchildren, Darrell Turner of Phoenix, Ariz. and Logan Turner (Lelia) of Albuquerque, N.M.; and  life long friends, Ramona Arceneaux and Troy Johnson.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Ruby Turner, along with his two sisters, Linda Sue Snider and Loretta Wilkins.

A Celebration of Larry’s life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, La. on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Arvin Harrell officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, beginning at 12 p.m. until the time of the service. 

Burial will take place at Bethel Cemetery in Bethel, Texas on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at 2 p.m.
