Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputies are searching for the driver involved in a Sept. 20 hit-and-run in the 2400 block of Toomey Road in Vinton.
Spokesperson Kayla Vincent said the driver of an SUV was traveling south on Toomey Road at about 9 a.m. when it attempted to make a left hand turn into a parking lot.
“The suspect’s SUV turned in front of another SUV that was traveling north, causing a crash,” she said. “The suspect then proceeded to enter the parking lot and exit onto Frontage Road, fleeing the scene.”
Vincent said the SUV is a white Ford Explorer and will have significant front-end damage.
Deputies attempted to locate the driver of the SUV, but have been unable to do so and believe the SUV may not have a license plate on the rear of the vehicle, Vincent said.
Anyone with information related to this accident is asked to call CPSO at 491-3605.
Sgt. Kerrick Gabriel, Jr., is the lead investigator on this case.
