Lorraine “Ogea “Theresa Baccigalopi

Lorraine “Ogea” Theresa Baccigalopi, age 89, of Creole, La. passed away on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024.

She was born on Sept. 10, 1935 in Lake Charles to Jasper Ogea and Gladys Babineaux Ogea. Lorraine moved to Big Lake after hurricane Rita, where she resided until she left this earthly world. This September Swinford and Lorraine would have been married 71 years.

Lorraine was a retired LPN, purchasing agent, ambulance driver and more at South Cameron Memorial Hospital. She later continued practicing as a LPN at nursing homes in the area. Lorraine was known to be strong willed and an independent woman! She took pride in taking her grandchildren to work with her at the nursing homes. She also loved cooking, sewing, and crocheting in her younger years. Lorraine was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by all.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Baccigalopi; son, Nick Baccigalopi, and parents, Jasper Ogea and Gladys Babineaux Ogea.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children; Joel (Sherry) Baccigalopi, Susan B Hebert (Donald), Doyle (Nila) Baccigalopi, Roger (Angel) Baccigalopi and Esther Baccigalopi; grandchildren, Angela Baccigalopi-Borrowdale, Hannah Baccigalopi-McMillan, Chuck and Dwayne Benoit, Blake and Mark Baccigalopi, Erica Baccigalopi-Bradley, Theresa Baccigalopi-Menard, Tony Baccigalopi, Alicia Baccigalopi-Franks, Mathew Baccigalopi, Savannah Baccigalopi-Miller and Kendra Baccigalopi-Lewis; daughter-in-law, Renee Baccigalopi, as well as, multiple great-grandchildren; three great-great-granddaughters, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren which she loved like her own.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Benoit, Dwayne Benoit, T.J Menard, Aiden Bradley, Jasper Kyle Ogea and Tony Baccigalopi.

Family will welcome the public for visitation from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024 at J. E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume at 8 a.m. on Friday until time of Funeral services at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at J. E. Hixson Funeral Home, Lake Charles with Monsignor James Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow in Grandlake-Sweetlake Cemetery in Bell City, La.
