Anna “Faye” Rawlins Barnhart

Home going services for Anna “Faye” Rawlins Barnhart will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, at Mount Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Johnson officiating. Committal service will follow in the Beaver Creek Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Visitation will be held in the Mount Hope Baptist Church on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.

Faye, 85 of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, in her residence surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on Sept. 18, 1939, in Oakdale, La. to the union of L.G. Rawlins and Nina Havens Rawlins.

Faye loved to go to church and fellowship with her church family, but more importantly, she loved the Lord and shared her love and passion for Him every day. She loved to fish, garden, quilt, crochet, make homemade jams and jellies, Faye especially loved cooking and baking and spending time with her family and friends. In her younger years, she played the piano at church but still continued to play at home for her family and friends.  Faye retired from the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals in Calcasieu after many dedicated years of service. 

She is preceded in death by her loving parents; brother, Lester “Buddy” Rawlins Jr., and her grandmother, Ezie Havens.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Ronny Barnhart of Oakdale; three sons, Lonny Barnhart of Lake Charles, Lee Barnhart and wife, Kelley of Jenkins, Mo. and Keith Barnhart of Moss Bluff; one daughter, Gail Kegley and husband, Michael of Moss Bluff; one sister, Linda Johnston of Oakdale; and brother-in-law, Pete Barnhart of St. Louis, Mo; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve will Chad Barnhart, Cody Barnhart, Brent Kegley, Ryan Kegley, Jonathan Barnhart, and Chris Williams. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Austin Lemoine and Matthew Snyder.  

The family would like to thank all the staff at Heart of Hospice, with a special thank you to Crystal George and Companion Care, with a special thank you to Larissa Chapman.
