Kenneth Miers

Kenneth Miers, born on March 14, 1957, in Seattle, Wash., passed away on Sept. 25, 2024. A devoted husband, father, and brother, Kenneth was known for his love of the outdoors, spending his days riding his John Deere tractor, fishing, and hunting. He found solace in the words of Louis L’Amour, his favorite author, and worked as a dedicated lab employee in the chemical industry at Westvaco for 38 years before retiring.

Kenneth’s heart was as big as his passion for his work, as he adored his family and all children, especially his grandchildren. His compassion extended to animals as well. He never hesitated to rescue strays, whether they were found on the side of the road or in parking lots, he even brought home a stray rooster once. His love for the simple country life made him a humble and down-to-earth man.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Anne Miers of DeRidder, La.; daughter, Sara Miller and Sean of Baytown, Texas; brothers, David Miers of Singer, La., Jimmy Miers and Rachel of Singer, La. and Michael Miers of Merryville, La.; sister, Lorraine Kerbow and Don of Singer, La.; grandchildren, Kaitlin Dobson and Taylor, Brandon Edwards, Tracie Carney, Madison Miller and Hunter, and McKenzie Miller; great-grandchildren, Addison, Henley, Bristol, Barrett, Brennon, Autumn, Brenden; nieces and nephews, Chris Miers, Brandon Miers, Kelsy Miers, Leanna Miers, Cody Miers, Letishia Miers, Kayla White, Kelli Tankersley, Alex Kerbow, Michael Jarrell, and a host of great-nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Maul Sr.; parents, Walter and Arlene Miers; sister-in-law, Carla Miers; brother-in-law, Gary Jarrel and wife, Jane; father-in-law, Ocie Montiville, and mother-in-law, Linda Montiville.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Kenneth’s life at a public visitation at Myers Colonial Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, at 11 p.m. Pallbearers will be Taylor Dobson, John Tankersley, Mike Jarrell, Cody Miers, Matthew Miers, Mac Courville. Brother Jimmy Clark will officiate the service. Let us come together to honor the memory of a man who touched the lives of all who knew him. Kenneth Miers will forever be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering love, and simple pleasures that brought joy to so many.
