Anna Belle Geery, 83, of Lake Charles, La. went to be with the Lord at her home on Sept. 19, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Feb. 7, 1941, in McAllen, Texas, to Rufus Lee Wisdom and Margaret Sue Cooper. In 1971, She married Victor Geery, and they moved their family to Lake Charles, La.
Anna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, known for her kindness and compassion. She dedicated her life to the Lord, her family, and her beloved pets. She loved her children fiercely and unconditionally. Anna had a sweet smile, a beautiful laugh and a sparkle in her eyes that would light up any room. Her shining silver hair was often crafted into a soft braid or bun. She had a sweet, gentle spirit but was tough as nails. Baking cakes for the birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and many more occasions of family and friends brought her great joy. Road trips brought her much delight, especially when it involved her dear sisters. A stray pet that would wander into her yard was never turned away. She was there for any of her children or grandchildren at the drop of a hat. She made every Christmas and other holidays at her house special for everyone. At family gatherings, her stories and laughter filled the room as many games were played, especially spoons. They will always cherish a special lullaby that she has passed down to them. She could often be found on a comfy couch or chair, snuggled in a soft, warm blanket. Her family cherishes and is blessed by the wonderful memories of her. Her presence will remain in their hearts forever.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor Geery; her parents, Rufus Lee Wisdom and Margaret Sue Cooper; her siblings, Sonny Wisdom, Chuck Wisdom, and Betty Taylor; her grandson, Chris Geery, and her son-in-law, Clinton Brown.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Paul Geery of Moss Bluff, and Joe Geery of Lake Charles; her stepson, Steve Geery and wife, Sandy of Lake Dallas, Texas; her daughters, Tammy Ehrlich of Lake Charles, Vicky Mack of Lake Charles, Cindy Beard Collins and husband, Jerr,y of Lake Charles, and Kay Geery of Westlake; her grandchildren, Jessica Barber (Jason), Jason Mack (Randi), Jennifer Authement (Robert), Janie Mack, Julie Mack (Rusty), Jodi Deville (Cory), Christopher Geery, Samantha Geery, Joshua Beard (Allie), Megan Beard (Justin), Anthony Beard (Casie), Amanda Beard (Chuck), Katherine Rasmussen, Daniel Collins, Brandi Geery (Caleb) and Bella Borel; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Suzy Harrison, Linda Maynard (John), Mary Wisdom and Geany Blanton (Bruce); and brothers, Walter Wisdom (Meme), Jerry Wisdom, Ronny Wisdom (Elena), Jeff Wisdom (Vicki), Joe Wisdom (Anita) and Jimbo Wisdom (Gloria).
