Oil rigs stationed within the Gulf of Mexico have clocked Hurricane Francine’s wind speed at 90 mph as it makes its way to lower Acadiana and Morgan City.
The storm continues to move northeast at 10 mph.
The storm is frequently hitting segments of dry air as it approaches the Louisiana coast, which National Weather Service Lake Charles Storm Warning Meteorologist Doug Cramer said will limit Francine’s intensification.
A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Cameron, Calcasieu, Jeff Davis and Allen parishes. The warning also remains effect for Sabine and Calcasieu lakes.
“It’s about to get real breezy here,” Cramer said.
