The medical staff told detectives that the child had at least 10 fractures to the body and that the fractures could not have been accidental.

Detectives were able to further the investigation and conduct interviews which resulted in the arrest of the couple.

The victim in the case and the other children in the home were taken into the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services, Hebert said.

An investigation into the incident is continuing.
