Betty Lou Ramoin

Betty Lou Ramoin, 89, of Vidor, Texas passed away on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024 at her residence. She was born to her late parents, Edward and Mamie LeJeune on April 14, 1935 in Iota, La. Some of her hobbies included gardening, cooking, and dancing. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church for many years and was involved in the Catholic Daughters, Eucharist Minister, Altar Society, Catholic Church Bingo, and a former choir member. Betty Lou was also a founder of the Calcasieu Cajun Club and coordinated the Young At Heart. She retired as a Pharmacist Assistant at Dave’s Drug Store.

She is survived by her one son, David John Ramoin (Lisa) of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Pauline Sue Truscott of Vidor, Texas; one brother, Allen LeJeune of Calif.; three grandchildren, Victory Ackley, Joseph Ackley, and Tiffany Keenon; along with her five great-grandchildren, Zachary Dahlenburg, Kerrigan Ackley, Kadence Ackley, Connie Ackley, and Jaxson LaFleur. 

Betty Lou is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Ramoin; her parents; one daughter, Judy Ann Ackley; her brother, Raymond LeJeune, along with her sister, Diane Hebert.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur, La. on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Andrew DeRouen officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Rosary led by the Catholic Daughters at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, from 8 a.m. until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles.
