Margie Ruth Peshoff Isaac, of Sulphur, La. passed away peacefully on Aug. 21, 2024. Ruth was born on April 11, 1932, in Aransas Pass, Texas and was raised in Carlyss, La. She graduated from Sulphur High School Class of 1950. She received a BA degree from Southwestern Bible Institute in 1956. She graduated from Sowela in 1957 as an LPN along with surgical nursing in 1959. She married John Calvin Isaac on Dec. 8, 1961, and they lived in Sulphur all of their life with the exception of one year in Artesia, N.M. for Jay’s job.

Ruth was a lifelong member of Southside Assembly of God (now Celebration Worship Center). She worked as a nurse and retired from West Cal Cam in 1994.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Peshoff; her mother, Mary Segrest Peshoff; her brother, Robert Peshoff; her sister, Rebecca Ann Peshoff Thompson; her husband, John Calvin Isaac, and Josephine and Feyood Isaac, her mother and father-in-law; sister-in-laws, Drusilla Isaac Beglis, Joyce Isaac Guidry, and Jackie Martin, and brother-in-laws Isaac Isaac, and Dr. George Isaac.

She is survived by her sisters, Faye Peshoff Kyson (Bob) and Opal Peshoff Umpierre (Frank); her sister-in-law, Janet Pollard Peshoff, and her daughter, Ellen Isaac Schoppert (Steve).

Ruth was a very caring person and loved to serve others through teaching and cooking. She was best known for her cream pies. She was very close to a master’s degree from Southwestern but was unable to complete it due to a family medical issue. After her nursing career ended, she worked at SonShine Bookstore and was a pink lady at West Cal Cam. She asked for a dog and Muffin came into her life in 2013. This was all part of God’s plan as Jay passed away that same year. A very special thanks to the staff at Christus Hospice and the loving, caring staff at Stonebridge Place Assisted Living.
