Vera Lee Mormon, 96, passed away peacefully on Aug. 12, 2024. Vera was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and graduated from 2nd Ward Colored High School. Her passions included quilting, nurturing her cherished rose garden and strengthening her relationship with God.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories her sons, Eddie Bryant (Monica) Mormon, Peter (Carla) Mormon; bonus son, Marcus Gordon; her sisters, Marjorie Miller and Audrey Evans; brother, Charles Gordon; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Vera’s life will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024 New Covenant Faith B.C.  Visitation is Saturday at  9 a.m.  Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Stevens’ Funeral Home.
