Carol S. Pierce

Carol S. Pierce, 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024 in a local nursing facility. She was born on Sept. 10, 1940, in Picher, Okla., to Raymond and Jewell Stanley Stacy.
In the 1940’s the family moved to Oregon and then to California where she grew up. She graduated from Douglas High School where she was a cheerleader. She moved to the Lake Charles area with her first husband, Jay David. In 1975, she married Wallace C. “Webb” Pierce.
Carol was a beautician and a real estate agent. Her hobbies included knitting and painting, but mostly traveling with Webb all over the United States following his retirement in the early 90’s. While traveling, they liked the northern California area so well they decided to stay there so she could be close to her siblings, nieces and nephews. They moved back to Lake Charles in 2012.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wallace C. “Webb” Pierce Jr.; two step-sons, Wallace C. “Bubby” Pierce III and Frank L. Pierce; two sisters, Eva Stacy Johnson (Calvin), Wanda Stacy Anderson (Marvin), and brother, Poley Stacy (Dena).
Those left to cherish her memory are her four step-children, Kathy Mixon (Russell), Sandra Yelverton (Clark), Donald Pierce (Susan) and Kenneth Pierce; six step-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. A graveside service will be held at Consolata Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 16 at 1 p.m.
