A Lake Charles man has been arrested after a woman was found dead in an apartment on Michael Debakey Drive Thursday night

Deputy Chief Kevin Kirkum said officers were called to the apartment at about 5:35 p.m. Thursday and found Sherron Delafose, who was non- responsive, lying on the floor in an apartment.

Kirkum said it was determined Delafose was a homicide victim.

He said Jesse Lee First — who knew the victim — was arrested two hours and charged with second-degree murder. His bond has been set at $ $1 million.
