Pure unmitigated, unconfined joy. Sandra “Sandi” Guillory Leger found and spread joy every day of her life. Born the third child of Ernest and Vergie Guillory on July 2, 1955, Sandi was certainly their firecracker. Their work ethic and strength powered her until her last day, Aug. 1, 2024.

She had the joy of marrying both of the loves her life. Right out of Lake Charles High School she married Bobby Gregory Land. A year later, their daughter, Marielle Land Howard, was born and three years later their son, Christopher Paul Land. From them, she got the greatest gifts in her life, her grandchildren, Caitlynn Mariah-Jean Land, Jordan Christopher Land and Hunter Isaac Howard. She also wholeheartedly adopted Devin Markus Howard as her own.

On Valentine’s Day 1993, she married the second love her life, Phillip Jean Leger. They lived their joyful adventure together until he passed in 2021.

Sandi gladly leaves a lot of things behind. Her friends, who she could make laugh in an instance; her family, who were blessed to grow up in the warm glow of her joie de vivre; her community, where she gave all she could to make any one person’s day better, and finally this world. Her love, passion, joy and wild sense of adventure spread like glitter and she loved the idea no one can shake that stuff off.
