Geneva Beard Veillon, 95, of Westlake, passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024 at a local care facility with her family at her side. 

Geneva was a native of Oberlin and a longtime resident of Westlake. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church. 

Preceding Geneva in death are her parents, Cleveland and Ollie Darbonne Beard; beloved husband of 51 years, Lina J. Veillon and her brothers, Cleveland Beard Jr. and Phillip Beard.

Those left to honor and cherish her memories are her children, Charlotte Colosky and husband, Michael, of San Angelo, Texas, and David Veillon and wife, Karen, of Georgetown, Texas; sisters-in-law, Barbara Beard, Elton and Regina Beard, Oberlin; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, and will continue on Thursday, Aug. 8 at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. with Father Jenesh Joseph officiating. Graveside Committal Services will follow at 1 p.m. at Oaklin Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Oberlin.
