A Lake Charles man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl under the age of 10 turned himself in to authorities Sunday.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said their office received a complaint on July 1 involving Jonathan J. Landry, 34.

“During the investigation detectives were advised Landry sexually assaulted a girl under the age of 10,” Vincent said.

After further investigation, on July 11, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

“Detectives attempted to locate Landry but were unsuccessful,” she said.

On Sunday, Landry turned himself in, at which time he was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with first-degree rape.

Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $1 million.
