James “Mickey” Gaudet

James “Mickey” Gaudet, 85, of Sulphur, La. passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at his residence. He was born to his late parents, James and Johnnie Gaudet on Jan. 24, 1939 in Vinton, La. He was employed by W.R. Grace for 36 years as a Pipefitter and owned and operated alongside his brother, Gaudet Air Conditioning Service. Mickey enjoyed the outdoors, being on his tractor, and was an avid LSU fan. He truly had a mechanical mind and collected and showed Classic Chevrolet Cars.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Craig Gaudet (Tanya) of Vinton, Richard Christopher Gaudet (Sue) of Sulphur, and James Kevin Gaudet (Penny) of Vinton; two daughters, Deborah Ann Gaudet (Debra Hebert) of Carlyss, and Lana Gay Breaux (Henry) of Vinton; one brother, Curtis J. Gaudet (Betty) of Vinton; along with 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; niece and nephew, Becky and Phillip Gaudet, along with his God send of a caretaker, Brandy Spencer.
Mickey is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Gaudet, along with his daughter-in-law, Patty Jon Gaudet.
A Celebration of Mickey’s life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Lee Gaudet officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, beginning at 10 a.m., with a Rosary at 11 a.m., followed by the service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss.
