A flood watch is in effect through 1 p.m. for coastal Southwest Louisiana.

The National Weather Service’s Lake Charles office expects additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches, with localized heavier amounts possible.

Showers and thunderstorms with possible high rainfall rates will spread across the area into early afternoon in response to an upper-level disturbance.
