Excessive rain and flooding continues to be a concern in Southwest Louisiana as another cluster of slow-moving thunderstorms will approach the region from the southwest today.
National Weather Service Lake Charles Storm Warning Coordinator Doug Cramer said a flood watch continues through 4 p.m. today.
He said additional rainfall amounts of 3-5 inches with localized heavier amounts is possible.
Conditions will be favorable for flash flooding. River and bayou flooding could also occur.
“It does appear as though we will see a pattern change next week, bringing a return of heat and humidity,” Cramer said.
Temperatures today are expected in the high-70s to mid-80s.
