Arline Hebert Moffett

Arline Hebert Moffett, 89, a resident of Indian Village, La. passed from this life on July 22, 2024, in the comfort of her home.

She was a loving giving mother, grandmother, and granny to her family. Arline was an accomplished interior designer and fabricator and was a member of ASID and Quota Club. She was a talented seamstress and designed and made costumes for various organizations in the area. Mrs. Moffett was a great baker, where every member of the family had their very own pie, and enjoyed traveling the globe and shopping for antiques. Arline was a woman of quiet faith and had a servant’s heart always putting the needs of others before her own.

Mrs. Moffett is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Ethel McConathy Hebert; sons, James Daniel Porter and Charles Edward Porter; siblings, Archie Hebert, Aline Crudele, Alice LeBleu, Anita Bertrand, Annette Fontenot, and Annie Gary.

Arline is survived by her daughters, Carrie Lee Porche and husband, Francis and Mary Moore and husband, Pete; grandchildren, Vicki Durden and husband, Dennis, Brandon Porche and wife, Loni, Lauryn Leslie and husband, Aaron, Candice Bruney, James Porter Jr., Samantha Whittaker, Jamie Thibodeaux and husband, Curt; 18 great-grandchildren, and her sisters, Alicia Norris and Amy Fontenot.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Mrs. Moffett’s caretakers, Katie  “Kathy” and Sam Guillory for the love and care shown during her twilight.

 The Family will receive friends on Friday, July 26, 2024, in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Services will be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Brother Vance Perkins is to officiate. Private burial will follow in Hebert Cemetery.
