Margie Ann Lanham Holladay

Margie Ann Lanham Holladay, 89, of Lake Charles passed away at 9:13 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2024 in her residence.
Mrs. Holladay was born on Dec. 14, 1934, in Sumpter, S.C. She spent her formative years there before relocating to Lake Charles in the late 1950s. In Lake Charles, she dedicated 25 years of her career as a secretary at Prien Lake Elementary School, retiring in 1997. A devoted member of First Baptist Church, she actively participated in the choir.
Mrs. Holladay had a passion for reading and stayed active through exercise, particularly enjoying water aerobics at the Health Spa. Her community spirit was evident in her volunteer work as a candy striper at Humana Hospital.
Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Linda C. Holladay of Lake Charles; a grandson, Nathan, and four great grandchildren, Reynolds, Rhodes, Spencer, and Henson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Luther D. Holladay; a son, Michael Holladay; and her parents, Margaret and James Lanham.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Johnny Damon will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will continue on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
