Robert Da’Ron Strauss, 45, transitioned and left his earthly body on Friday, July 12, 2024. Robbie was born Aug. 24, 1978, in Lafayette, La. to Eugene and Connie Strauss. He was a graduate of Jennings High, Class of 1997. He was a running back for the Jennings Bulldogs as part of the “dynamic duo”. He attended Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Miss. He also served in the US Army and US Navy. He was a Maintenance Supervisor for Farmer’s Rice Mill in Lake Charles, La. 

Robbie leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Da’Ron Rashad Strauss and Robert Da’Ron Strauss Jr; one sister, Maegan B. Jackson; one niece, Camdyn Louise Jackson; three aunts, Deborah Botley, Sharon Rubin, and Sheila Thibodeaux; three special cousins that he considered brothers, Corey Rubin, Glen Allen Botley, and Brandon Botley, and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Strauss; mother, Connie Rubin; and grandparents, Robert and Louise Rubin.

A Celebration of Robbie’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Semien-Lewis Mortuary in Jennings, La. with Minister Betty Etienne officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the  time of celebration services.  Burial will follow in Peterson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.
