Michael Dewain Broussard

Michael Dewain Broussard, 69, of Lake Charles, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024, at his residence. A native of Creole, La., Michael was born Jan. 14, 1955 and was a lifelong resident of Southwest Louisiana.
Michael was a jack of all trades. He became a welder at a young age but later went to trade school and became a HVAC Tech and worked for CMC for over 17 years. He was musically inclined and enjoyed playing his guitar and his love for family and friends was unmeasurable.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Donna Broussard; mother, Mabel Starr; children, Trisha Cole (Brent), Ian Broussard (Kristin), Jenna Wingard (Andy), Kristina Clevenger (Christopher); 10 grandchildren, Freja Cole, Zachaus Martarona, J.W. Farr, Avery Broussard, Kingston and Amelia Wingard, Haven, Keagan, Grayson and Autumn Clevenger; two great-grandchildren, Sylas Sullivan and Khorie Martarona; siblings, Bruce Starr (Glenda), Paricia “Sissy” Owens (Steve), Steve Starr, (Liz), Mary Theresa Starr, Clarissa Abbott (Trey), Jerry Starr (Heidi), Bobbi Starr.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harris and Annie Broussard; stepfather, Larry Starr; uncles, Larry Broussard and Ronald Primeaux.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA 70605. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of The Lake Catholic Church, 11054 LA-384, Lake Charles, LA 70607. Following the Mass, burial will be at Chenier Perdue Cemetery in Creole, La.
