Carolyn Sue Madden Richard, 70 years old, passed away on June 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on Dec. 14,1953 to James and Archie Cobb Madden in Victorville, Calif. on the Geroge Air Force Base.

Carolyn’s greatest joy in life was her family. Her memory will be cherished forever by her family, her students, and her friends. She pursued teaching as her life’s passion. Carolyn loved drawing, sketching those around her, and studying the work of God.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 51 years, Gary Richard; her daughter, Celesta Richard-Lormand, and husband, Kenneth; her mother, Archie Sue Cobb; her siblings, James Madden and wife, Becky, Billy Madden and wife, Melissa, Celesta McDonald and husband, Brian, Teresea Madden-Thompson and husband, William, Shane Madden and wife, Antonia; nieces, Ashley Madden, Brittney Madden-Faulk, and husband, Brandon, Tara Madden-Corley and husband, Clint, and  Sharron Madden-Hopper and husband, Michael.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Madden; sister, Edwinna Madden; niece, Crustal Crews, and great-nephew, Ian Hopper.

The family will welcome the public on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff, La. Visitation will continue at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff, La. on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens following the service.
