The Lake Charles Gumbeaux Gators kept their hot streak alive Wednesday with a 4-3 walk-off win over the Acadiana Cane Cutters at McNeese State’s Joe Miller Ballpark.

The Gators have won eight of their last 10 games and won the first half Louisiana division title in the Texas Collegiate League. The first-half title guarantees the Gators a spot in the TCL playoffs in July.

Aiden Walsh (St. Louis Catholic / Panola JC) had the winning hit on a single with no outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to score Dillon Bird (Sulphur HS / Baton Rouge CC). Bird led off the inning with a walk and advanced when the Cane Cutters committed an error trying to deal with Krayton Morse’s (Jacksonville State) sacrifice bunt.
