A 21-year-old Lake Charles man has been charged in a May 27 shooting in the 500 block of W. LaGrange Street.
Lake Charles Police Deputy Chief Kevin Kirkum said Jaydyn Matthew Bennett is accused of shooting at his girlfriend multiple times during a verbal argument. She was not injured.

On Monday, detectives and SWAT members executed a search warrant at Bennett’s residence in the 1600 block of W. McNeese St. He was arrested without incident.
Bennett is charged with attempted second-degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property. His bond has been set at $1.1 million.
Kirkum said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact lead Detectives Sgt. Hope Sanders or Detective Tre Mixon by calling 337-491-1311.
