Lawrence Elroy Manuel, age 88, of Lake Charles, La. passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024. He was born April 26, 1936 in DeQuincy, La. to Lawrence Manuel and Ethel Sara.

Lawrence was a longtime resident of Lake Charles and resident of Moss Bluff for the last 18 years. He enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, canning jelly and pickles, and was a devout Saints fan. Lawrence’s biggest passion was his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Adele J. Manuel; daughter-in-law, Doris Manuel; children, Randy Manuel, Eddie Manuel and wife, Kathy, Ray Manuel and wife, Tammy, Tina Schiele, Charles Manuel and wife, Amy, Becky Manuel, Ronnie Manuel and wife, Rachel, Missy LaBauve and husband, Kevin, and Denise Byler; daughter-in-law, Brandi Johnson; 30 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; numerous brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Ann Manuel; son, Ben Manuel; daughter-in-law, Loretta Manuel; son, Kevin Manuel; son-in-law, Gomer Schiele; son, John D. Johnson, and numerous brothers and sisters.

The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral home of Moss Bluff on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 beginning at 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 8 a.m. until the time of service. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Hayes Cemetery.
