The family of Alexander “Alex” Chaisson, 29, of Pine Island, announces his passing on April 7, 2024.

Funeral services for Alex will be held on Thursday April 11, 2024, at 2 p.m., in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Bill Miller officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service. He will be laid to rest in Pine Island Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. 

He was born on July 9, 1994, in Jennings, La., to Stephen Broussard Jr. and Evette Chaisson Sonnier. At 16, he attended the Youth Challenge Program and received his GED. Alex took pride in his work, especially working on the tugboats as a deckhand. He was always full of life and never met a stranger. He loved his family and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed cooking and having a great time. He also loved spoiling his four-legged friend, Pepper.

Left to cherish his memories are mother, Evette (Kenley) Sonnier; father, Stephen (Paula) Broussard Jr.; sisters, Payton Sonnier, Alexis (Alyssa) Toler, and Khristine Broussard; brother, Devan (Jaida Crochet) Sonnier; niece, Everleigh and his nephew, Easton; maternal grandparents, Roger and Donnalen Chaisson; paternal grandparents, Steve and Peggy Arceneaux, and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by aunts, Monica “Niki” Chaisson and Stephanie Broussard.
