Linda Carol Gaharan

Linda Carol Gaharan, 79, of Lake Charles, La., passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Linda was born on June 12, 1944, in Alexandria, La., to parents, Oscar and Marion Ganey Allbritton. She married her high school sweetheart in 1961 and was a loving and devoted wife. She loved being a mom to her children James and Shannon, and later a “Mam” to her three grandchildren.
She loved God and her church, Trinity Baptist Church, where she was an active member of her Sunday School class. Linda took great joy in caring for her home, sewing, and searching for antiques. For Linda, family was the most important thing.
Her memory will be cherished by her devoted husband, Dr. James Phillip Gaharan; a son, James Gaharan; grandchildren, Alyson Gaharan of Alexandria, Va.; Steele Koonce of Lake Charles, and Madelyn Geisz (Joe) of Fort Collins, Colo.; brothers, Ron (Robin) Allbritton of Fountain Inn, S.C., and Clyde Allbritton (Judy) of Jena, La.; a sister, Vanessa Allbrittion (Amy) of Jena. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She joins her parents and a daughter, Shannon Lynn Koonce, in heaven.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, at Trinity Baptist Church. Dr. David Rose and Rev. Steve James will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services.
Pallbearers will be Steele Koonce, Heath Allbritton, Joe Geisc, Wayne Pointer, Roddy Berryhill, and John Berryhill.
The family has suggested that donations be made to the Internation Board of Missions or the American Cancer Society.
