Police: Oakdale mans admits being gunman in donut shop shooting

Authorities say an Oakdale man has admitted to being the gunman in a shooting late last year at a local donut shop.
Benjamin Brant, 25, was arrested Friday on charges of aggravated flight from an officer, two counts of aggravated second degree battery and hit and run. He is also facing several traffic violations and a drug-related charge.
Oakdale Police Chief Chad Doyle said Brant admitted to being the shooter while being questioned by detectives after being arrested on a warrant.
The incident occurred on Nov. 14 at the Donut Palace on U.S. 165 north in Oakdale.
Brant is being held in the Allen Parish Jail on a $28,200 bond.
