Clifford L. Collins, 87, departed this life on Friday, March 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, in Lake Charles, La. He was born to Rodney and Joicia Collins in Lake Arthur, La. on Sept. 24, 1936.
Clifford worked at PPG as a truck driver until his retirement after 35 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing dominoes and fishing.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 50 years, Annie Collins; sister Erma Thomas of Lake Arthur, La.; children, Clifford Collins Jr., Dwight (Heather) Collins Sr., and Adrienne Collins. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Tremaine, Jaylon, Dwight Jr, Dania, Ty Collins and Quentin Leday. He also leaves his mother in law, Willa Cormier; three sisters-in-law, July Davis, Denise Davis, and Myrtle Davis; three brothers-in-law, Arthur Cormier, Carl Davis, and Wayne (Cynthia) Julien. He also has two godchildren, Rodney (Sheba) Thomas and Dinie Simon, as well as two bonus children, Pastor Francis (Orleana) Davis and LaDonna (Ryan) Simon that will forever miss his presence, along with a host of relatives and friends.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Joicia Collins; brother, Nathaniel Collins; sister, Eleanor Baker; grandparents, George Lee Sr., and Dora Lee; brother-in-law, Elton Thomas Jr.; niece, Brenda Thomas; nephew, Terance Baker Sr., and great nephew, Robert Bob Carter III.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Clifford Collins will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Christian Baptist Church North Location, 202 N. Franklin Street, Lake Charles, La. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with funeral service following at 11 a.m. Cremation services has been entrusted to King’s Funeral Home.
