Ryan Stuart King

Ryan Stuart King, a resident of Lacassine and native of Creole, passed away in Marksville on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
He was born on Feb. 18, 1979 to Michael King and Cynthia Anne “C. Anne” (Primeaux) King. Ryan was a graduate of South Cameron High School and McNeese State University. He was very active in the community and in many organizations, the American Red Brangus Association and has served on the National Board, Krewe Du Lac and served on the Board of Directors, Louisiana High School Official Association, Knights of Columbus, and the ACTS Community.
Ryan was an avid traveler, he enjoyed camping and taking family trips both near and far. He loved cruising and was proud of his Platinum Cruiser status. Ryan attended LSU football games, as well as McNeese football and basketball games.
In his spare time, he enjoyed going to livestock shows, watching his sons show cattle, watching rodeos, visiting family and friends, and sharing pictures of God’s artwork in the sky.
Ryan will forever be remembered for his generous and giving nature and for always having a smile.
Ryan is preceded in death by his father, Michael King.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Courtnie (Benoit) King; children, Brett King and Kale King; mother, C. Anne King (Jimmy); sisters, Chelsi King Allemand (James), and Krystal King Phillips (Charles Manuel); godchildren, Hunter Conner, and Brooke Harrell; and his godmother, Rosalie Nunez. Ryan is survived by his father and mother-in-law, Edward and Peggy Benoit; sister-in-law, Mika LeBert (Joshua); and brother-in-law, Chad Benoit (Ashley). Ryan is also survived by Mindy Breaux and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, friends, and coworkers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 1 p.m. in St. Raphael Catholic Church in Iowa with Rev. Fr. Daniel Hart as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
Visitation will begin Sunday, March 17, 2024 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home in Iowa from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume Monday in the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Ryan’s coworkers, the staff of Acadian Ambulance, and the staff of Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville.
