The Oakdale Police Department is searching for a man who attempted to rob the La Capitol Federal Credit Union, 2040 U.S. 165, at gunpoint on Friday.
Oakdale Police Chief Chad Doyle said the unidentified man walked into the Credit Union shortly after noon Friday armed with a gun and attempting to rob them.
“He didn’t realize there was bulletproof glass, so the clerks scattered and left him standing,” Doyle said.
The man later fled in a grey F-250 crew cab truck with no license plate. He was last seen heading south on U.S. 165.
No customers were in the bank at the time and no employees were injured, Doyle said.

The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
