Lewis Earl Hall

Lewis Earl Hall, 95, of Sulphur, La. passed into the arms of his Savior on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. He was born to his late parents, Robert and Elia Hall on June 22, 1928 in Beaumont, Texas. He was proud of his service in the United States Navy, where among other things he was second in his class in survival school, where he used his skills in hunting and fishing. Lewis worked for Cities Service (now Citgo) in the Ethylene division for 26 years and then took early retirement. Finally, he went to work for the City of Sulphur as a supervisor in the Water Department. He loved spending time with his precious family. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur being baptized in 1935, and becoming a member again after returning from the service in 1954. He truly loved his church family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Wanda Hall; daughter, Suzanne Calhoun (Andrew) of Baton Rouge, La.; brother, Kenneth Hall of Newhall, Calif.; three grandchildren, Owen Woodard (Katie), Cody Woodard (Simin), and Henry Woodard; along with two great-grandchildren, Theodore “Teddy” Louis Woodard, and Eloise Woodard.
Lewis is preceded in death by his parents; along with his siblings, Robert Hall, George Hall, John Hall, Ruby Mae Hall, and Rose Alice Hanchey.
A Celebration of Lewis’s life will be held at First Baptist Church in Sulphur, La. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., with Bro. Michael Linton officiating. Visitation will begin at the church on Saturday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Sulphur, La.
