Alvenia Rose Thibodeaux

Alvenia T. Thibodeaux, also known as Pee Wee, Sis and Maw Maw to all others, was born on May 6, 1936 in the community of Lyons Point, La. and was delivered by Dr. G.G. Fontenot of Morse, La. She passed away at her home on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the age 87.
Alvenia retired from the Calcasieu Parish School Board after 28 years as a food technician and manager. She had a passion for genealogy recording and loved going to the casino.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Ray Thibodeaux and wife, Gail, Cheryl Bertrand and husband, Mark, and Michael Thibodeaux; five grandsons, Corey, David, Aaron, and Matt Thibodeaux and wife, Audrey, and Scott Bertrand and wife, Fhai; six great-grandchildren, Brennan, Kinsley, Grant, Raleigh, and Trinity “Rose” Thibodeaux, and Alina Bertrand; two step-grandsons, Gage Booth and Jack Vaughn; nephew, Joey Dockins, and niece, Arline Long.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Claudius Trahan and Lucia Doucet Trahan; husband, Howard J. Thibodeaux; son, Jeffrey Paul Thibodeaux; two grandsons, Nicholas and Jeffrey Michael Thibodeaux; brother, Kernis Trahan, and sister Lovenia Dockins.
The family will welcome relative and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Monday, March 4, 2024 beginning at 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 beginning at 8 a.m. until the procession leaves for the church at 9:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Bosco Catholic Church at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Consolata Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandson Brennan Thibodeaux and honorary pallbearer will be Grant Thibodeaux.
